NEW TO PILATES

No Previous Experience Necessary.

It's quite common for first-timers to feel intimidated about starting up Pilates sessions. The most common misconceptions are that you are "not flexible enough" or "not familiar with any of the exercises" etc. Instead of doubting your abilities consider that you are here to learn something new. As Maytal says, "you didn't go to school to learn things you already knew, you had to be taught how to read, write, do math, etc and that took time." Pilates is designed to provide you with a uniquely personalized workout. At TPLA we provide a welcoming atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to learn at their own pace.

Just come with an open mind, patience and the willingness to learn.

SESSION SPECIFICS

Each session is 45 - 55 minutes long.

For first-time clients new to the method the initial session acts as both as an assessment of your body's needs as well as an introduction to the equipment and to the basic exercises. For those with more experience of the Romana's or the "classical" method the session will seek to expand and challenge your understanding and connection of your powerhouse. Through fluid movement we will reveal your body's needs and challenge your strength to bring your body to the next level through the Pilates method.

There is a 24 hour cancellation policy.

WHAT TO WEAR: Comfortable shirt and pants, depending on your comfort level yoga/stretchy pants, work very well. No Zippers
Socks are optional - we recommend a pair of grip socks (such as Toe Sox® or something of the sort). Keep jewelry to a minimum.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Learning Pilates is like learning a new language, it takes time, exactly how long varies with each person.
